Welcome to TFK!
Gourami and betta are natural enemies. They live in the same habitat and in the wild fight for the same resources. This translates over to not nice tank mates. I've heard of dwarf gourami killing betta, and also betta killing dwarf gourami. Usually doesn't end well, I'd separate them.
Not sure if the rams have any part in this, I don't keep them.
But generally a betta is happiest on it's own in a tank, and they do better on their own in a smaller tank than with other fish in a bigger tank. Posted via Mobile Device
