Hello and welcome to TFK I'm a Bostonian myself (born and raised there and on outskirts). Moved to NH 1-1/2 yrs ago but still work in Boston.

I miss having a good fish store to hop to here :(

Where do you buy your fish and supplies?

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Hey there, Romad--thanks!

I've been known to pick up small fish like stressed-out danios from places like Pet Supplies Plus in Dedham when I'm supposed to be buying food for my cats and crickets for my snake.

Skipton's was ok, but they've closed. Big Fish Little Fish in Cambridge can be ok...but, let's just say inconsistent in their care.

It's pretty far west of here (near Framingham), but Tropic Isle is great. Been meaning to head over to Uncle Ned's in Millis...possibly late this week I might just do that.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions, too!

I've been to the one in Framingham and I agree - they're pretty great. If you head over there check out the clearance section. I got some smoking deals on some submersible heaters.

My go to place was Lovely Pets in Quincy. The name is deceiving because they are fish only. I still have a lot of my original stock from them going on 4 years now. They also have a ton of live plants.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra

something seeded for you next filter.
