Smile Just Though I'd Say Hello!

Hello!

I just recently bought a Betta (I had one before a year or two ago that died a month after I bought him ) so with my new Betta I want to be sure I take care of him properly, I've already started reading the many helpful topics in the forums!

I have had experience with fish before, volunteering at a fish hatchery, but obviously those fish are very different from Bettas!

I do understand that a 1 gallon tank is not ideal, but I am in college and the tank I have is convenient for travel/carrying to a friend's room for them to watch while I'm away for the weekend.

As for my Betta, his name is Merlin, he's a Spade Tail (hope that's the right classification, been looking at several sites!) He seems to like his tank, since he's been making a lot of bubbles at the surface, and I intend to add some fake plants to his tank when I get my next paycheck.

This is an amazing and very resourceful site, and I look forward to being apart of the community!

Welcome to TFK!

I always appreciate people who take the time to learn about how to best care for their pets, I know you'll find lots of like-minded Betta-loving friends here!

Merlin sounds adorable, and bubble nests are always a good sign!

Happy learning, and happy fish-keeping!
