hi jakiebabie!

To start with, yes. she ate them all and how sad that none of them was left alive. In fairness, the platys were doing great. The mom which just gave birth is active again, swimming around with the others and they get along just fine... here are some of the information you need as I couldn't answer all due to lack of testing kit.

How long have you had them? 4 weeks

7. Were the fish placed under quarantine period (minus the first batch from the point wherein the tank is ready to accommodate the inhabitants)? no. just 1 platy at some point for 1 day bec. she's giving birth so i had to transfer her to a breeding box.

Fake plants? yes. 3
b. Sand, gravel, barebottom? they're pebbles.
c. Rocks, woods, fancy decors? Any hollow decors? yes i have 3 small rocks in it. 1 castle stone house. 1 ethnic palm tree. 3 plastic plants. and some plastic seashells.

How often are they fed? twice a day lunch and very late dinner 9pm. small amounts like a pinch of my fingers much

13. a. Any abnormal signs/symptoms? none so far. except for the ich that i cured. no major.
b. Appearance of poop? white...sometimes it has cream in color.
c. Appearance of gills? normal.

Jakiebabie,

I'm just curious.. why is my female platy which just gave birth yesterday, slapping other females tale with hers? also she keep on following my unknown not yet sure if pregnant fish wherever she go. also, this unknown fish which happens to be not sure pregnant is less active now and always want to be alone. and she's morose to others fish whenever it comes near her. and the other platys stay by her side like they're waiting for something. especially the platy that just gave birth...

Here is a link on how to post a picture. Hope this helps you with that. http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/h...ictures-18568/

One thing I noticed about your tank is that it seems like you are leaving your lights on a long time. I'm no expert but I think around 8 hours of light should be plenty. Otherwise you may have excessive algae grow.

It looks like a lyretail molly to me. I have two, not that color though. I'm not sure if it is pregnant. I went to google images search and typed in lyretail molly and one of the first few has yellow and black markings like that.

Yes Mollies can be a bit of a bully sometimes. And yes adding a male will likely change her attitude. Try tho to get one equal to her size otherwise she will bully him too!

So How is it all going? Have things calmed down a bit? No more deaths recently? I hope things settled down for you.
Who do you have in the tank now? and what species? m/f?
