Introduction

Hey everybody, I'm new. I first started fishkeeping five years ago with a one gallon aquarium and two one inch long lutigo oscars. They are now in a 75 gallon tank and are about a foot long each. They are the most fascinating fish I have ever kept, it has been a great joy to watch them grow and interact with each other and with me as well. They are very spoiled and are hand fed. [Which has occasionally resulted in a bloody finger.] The oscars are my favorites, but I also have a twenty gallon tank with a goldfish my fiance' got at a carnival six years ago that actually lived, he has assorted 'friends' as well as a baby bristlenose algae eater. I have a thirty gallon tank with two blood parrot cichlids in it. They are alone in the tank because anything I put in there they wind up eating it if I don't take it out. They are more aggressive than the oscars! I also have a ten gallon tank that has a more gentle blood parrot, an opaline gourami, and a bala shark. As you may see, I am very interested in fish. If I had more room in my house I would have my other 75 gallon tank up and running also as well as three other smaller aquariums. I am so glad I found this forum because now I have a source of knowledge to pull from. I have looked all over the net and this is the most dependable source of info I have seen. Well, I hate to post and run but I have to get started cleaning the aquariums, it's an all day job. Hope everybody has a good day.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
