I'm not shy, I dive right in! (and I'm real cheesy too!)

Hello! So yeah, three years of wanting a tank and I finally got one on the 4th of July! Yay! I now have a job to fund my hobby. My boyfriend has been amazingly supportive--he helped me carry 46 gallons of water up my stairs for half an hour to the sound of fireworks.

I am really excited and love all the in's and out's of aquarium keeping. I like all the chemical balances involved and my favorite subject in school was always biology.

I was originally obsessed....OBSESSED with bettas. My first betta, Kitty, finally passed away from old age after an amazing 3 1/2 years a few weeks ago. Now, his brother Bosco is lonely. What started out as an upgrade for Bosco (bigger tank and some friendly tank mates) turned into my full fledged chance at a real community tank.

Aquarium interest kind of runs in the family. My father had a 55 gallon tank and a koi pond for close to 15 years before I was born. So its a nice father-daughter thing. Lots of things have changed in the aquarium world since he was involved so we learn from each other.

Ok, so to sum things up. I ask a lot of questions and love to learn and teach others. I have 46 gallon tank that is finally aged enough to start adding some hardy fish! Any suggestions for starter fish in a tropical community tank would be muchly appreciated!

8) Have a great day and thanks for reading!
