Hi! Intro to KerryF

Hi! I'm Kerry and I live in Colusa, California. I've had Koi before but don't have the room for such a large tank, due to needing to move to a tiny cottage. I think I'm ready for something easy to manage and beautiful to look at, so I'm considering a Betta.
In the past, I've raised West German working showline German Shepherd Dogs, and I have three dogs living out their lives with me as companions. My next dog will probably be a Border Collie to help me herd goats as I re-enter the field of contract grazing. I've had experience raising meat goats and I'm taking online classes in Agricultural Science to learn as much as I can about WEEDS! Classes start on January 18, so I want to get most of the fishy footwork done before then.
Thanks for the warm welcome by so many!

Kerry

hello and warm welcome to you.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

I intended to post some pix of my dogs, but I discovered that 250Free.com has been down for well over a month which is where I've stored all of my posted photos. Not good. I'll have to upload them to Skydrive when I have more time. The way I found out about this problem is when I attempted to upload a couple pix of what I think are pretty Bettas. The breeder in me wanted to ask for a structural critique. Is there such a section on this site, e.g., Critique My Betta? I know that this kind of thread can become volatile sometimes. ;)

Welcome to TFK. We love seeing furry friends just as much as we love seeing fishy friends. Looking forward to seeing your pictures. What are your plans for your Betta tank?

P.S. Here's Abbey, our new fur baby. She is 6 months old today
