Ok guys, here's the deal. I've kept fish for a long time. Starting off with goldfish, moving onto a community tank or 2, then marine and now i'm going back to freshwater again.
Here's my plan.
This is what I have already, equipment wise:
Tank = 610mm x 280mm x 300mm
Filter = Boyu canister filter (210 l/h)
Gravel= Pool filter sand (quite course)
Lights= 2 x T8's (1 x lifeglo 15w, 1 x sunglo 10w) Got ballists
Heater= 50watt
Thermometer
Will get:
PH test kit
Possible livestock:
2 x Rams (electric blue) or keyhole cichlids ( I really like these guys)
7 x neon tetra's
3 x peppered cory's
2 x otocinlis
hello and welcome.
the ottos are not going to be a good idea for you in the begining,
they are very sensitive,and without algae,they will probably not survive,sorry.
unless you have a very nice friend who would be willing to donate filter media
all the fish you have choses will struggel to survive,they are just not hardy enough,
sorry not to be more positive for you
gosh i feel awful now.
Don't feel awful, I appreciate the advice. But you must also remember, I am not gonna just chuck all the fish in over a short period, this is going to be a process and I am going to let the tank mature as I go along in order that that the fish I keep and plants I keep are happy , and not just SURVIVING. I have kept aquariums for around 12 years, and am just looking for opinions out there, thanks guys
:-D
i will look forward to watching your tank grow.
