hey everyone just writing to say iv'e arrived lol

hey people just messaging in to say hi to everyone
i'm new to the whole hobby really i can't even remember having a goldfish when i was a child so i have dived in to the deep end here a little and at the moment swimming quite comfortably but still have a lot to learn.
I have girlfriend who's obsessed with animals, if she see's that there is an animal that needs a home we usually end up with it so she saw one of her friends messages on facebook saying her tank had broke and her fish needed a home as 23 had died out 47 she had and they were all in bowls around the kitchen.
THAT WAS IT in the car up her friends and back to our house where we had a 1 foot tank ....yes thats right 1 foot a 6-7 inch clown loach 2 large angels and a large plec.

Next day -Tank
we were looking on the net for the full setup in one only maybe 3 feet or so but didn't want pay some of the silly prices that they were asking when you could get more for your money buying the setup all separately.we only had 100 to 200 pounds and wanted something tidy as it would be in the living room then i found it second hand and 20 mins up the road 400 liter corner tank in mint condition 100 great british pounds i was absolutely chuffed i had been looking at something similar in pets at home but they wanted 650 pounds for it and thought if i cant keep the fish alive thats a lot of money to lose.
but i didn't have much choice now and after 2-3 months im loving it and my girlfriend doesn't bother with them now because i've talked about them so much lol

thanks 5hall (Greig)

Hello and welcom to fishforum. I would say you would want to get a bit bigger tank. like a 75 gallon or up to 125. your clown loach will get huge. and the pleco is already big. just an opinion. I would not recomend geting the cichlid untill you get a bigger tank. sorry.

Welcome to the forum, Greig. Your girlfriend sounds like a woman after my own heart. Animals are one of my great loves and I can't begin to tell you how many I've rescued & rehomed and the many I've kept them all to myself. Would love to see pics of your tank & fish, when you can.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...
