Hello from WV

My name is Krystal, I currently have 3 tanks running: a 55 G with cherry red shrimp and guppies, a 10 G with prego guppies, and a 125 G with F1 bismark frontosa. I have an empty 90 G in a wall in my basement but I can't bring myself to put anything in it as I never spend anytime in the basement and I cannot for the life of me clean the thing who ever built it put it up very high and it's a tall tank I don't think on a step ladder I could reach in the thing. I think I'm trying to convince myself here it really needs some fish. lol I'm wanting to do some planting in my 55 and maybe try some blue pearl shrimp in the 10G. Nice to meet everyone.

Hi Krystal and welcome to TFK

It sounds like you're already firmly planted in the fishkeeping addiction if you're thinking of stocking that 90 gallon that you can't clean easily LOL.

I would love to have that setup but being a shorty myself (5'4") I''d prolly have the same issue.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Thanks for the welcome. Martian you can fit tanks in lots of places I had one behind my dinning room table at one point. lol I actually have 2 other tanks but they are in storage 6hrs away or they would be running. I don't know what they were thinking when they built the 90G really I can stand on a 2 step ladder and barely reach the top of it it looks great from the room but it's not really useable, I've even thought of taking it out of the wall but then I'm gonna have a huge hole where your look into my closet. I've been thinking on this for over a year, at one point I filled it up threw a couple fish in it but after the first time I tried to clean it I drained it. I would really like to set up some smaller tanks right now. lol

hello and welcome from a 5'2 who also has to stand on a step stool to reach into the aquarium.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Thanks willow I'm 5'2 also they really don't make tall aquariums for us especial once you put them on a high stand.

I'm in the same boat LOL, but both of you have 2 inches on me, so count yourselves lucky ....I'm only 5' and also needs a step stool to reach into my 20g. properly.

Hey!! We should start a support group.

i guess the only other option would have been to buy a lower unit i guess.
