Smile Hello from Washington!

We are new here and new to fish. This is our first fish tank (freshwater), which we have only had for a few weeks. Well we started with a 2.5 gallon for my 2 year old daughter first fancy gold fish then we were given a 32 gallon fish tank and filter, heater, and a few other things by her grandpa. We have since added a lot more decorations and fish. Here is our list of fish. They are all doing great with each other.

1 Black Moor goldfish
2 black and orange Oranda goldfish
1 Panda Moor Butterfly Tail goldfish
1 calico fantail goldfish
1 black angel fish
1 panda kio angel fish
1 African Featherfin Catfish
1 Leopard Plecostomus Algae Eater

Here is our tank, getting it set up

here it is all set up, we have since added decor and fake plants (and fish of course) Grandpa is suppose to bring over the matching stand in a few days.

Hello and welcome to the forum. It's fun to set up a new tank :)

Not to rain on your parade but how did you decide on which fish to put in the tank? I'm asking because goldfish are coldwater fish and the other fish require warmer temperatures. And depending on how large some of them can get, they might require a much larger tank in the long run.

Same goes for the pleco (if he's a common) - they get quite large as well. And to top it all off, goldfish and plecos are notorious poopers especially when full grown.

Thanks! We are having a lot of fun with the fish tank. Well we started with the goldfish because my daughter had picked him out, but Basically, for all the fish, we each (all 3 of us) picked them out because we loved the look of them. We were told that the goldfish would do well in a topical tank even though they prefer cold water. So far, they are all very healthy looking and doing very well. This is just our starter tank, when they out grow the 32 gallon (or maybe even sooner) we are going to get a much bigger tank. This tank was given to us for free so we thought it would be a great starter tank for now, and then upgrade when they get bigger.

Sounds like a good plan. Enjoy

Welcome to the forum. There is a lot of good advice on here so make sure you ask questions if you are not sure of something.

I would look into getting a bigger tank sooner rather than later and get a stand that fits the tank. I noticed in your pictures you have part of the tank hanging off of the current stand. That is probably putting a lot of pressure on the bottom edge and could cause a major leak in your current set up.

Best of luck!!!
