Good starter fish would be things like hardy tetras, danios, rasboras, any of the livebearers (mollies, platies, swordtails, guppies), corydoras catfish, bettas, many of the gouramis and several types of dwarf cichild, like kribensis. While these fish are all fairly hardy, I recommend doing a fishless cycle before adding any fish to the tank, as any fish can succumb to the stress of the cycling process. Of course, even the fish I listed have specific care requirements, so definitely do some research on the fish you want before adding them to your tank.
