Had the latest stuff, back in '86. Packed it all away, and now want to resurrect the set up, but taking advantage of the greater knowledge and technology of today.

Picture this: Habitat Tank, 75 gallons, with lava rock attached to rear and both sides, reverse UG filter thru PEP cannister filter, alternating reverse current pumps, and wet-dry trickle filter sump. Of course, T-12 actinic fluorescents.

Now trying to figure out how I can retain the tank and successfully enjoy a mixed reef system. I have been researching this for many weeks, and am forming a plan focusing on a large custom sump with up-to-date features. I will be posting some specific questions in the days ahead. In the meantime, if you have general suggestions, other than starting all over, please let me know.

The tank looks great.I have been wanting to do a 3-D background style tank but always jump the gun and setup with rock.

The filtration and sump appear to be geared towards fish only as the canister and bio balls\ceramic nodes will fuel nitrates.

Sorry not trying to stray from the welcoming thread. When you start up a build thread I will definitely tune in.
