Hello, Nice Site

Hi, I am CathyJ. I am new to this site.

I have been running and maintain saltwater reef tanks for around 7 years now. My tank is an in-wall 400 gallon reef tank.

I kept a 20 gallon fresh water tank for many years, twenty five years ago. So basically I guess it is fair to say were are new to freshwater tanks. We recently inherited a 135 gallon fresh water tank. The tank was so green, you couldn't see the fish. We have been working for over a month now, trying to get rid of the green water. Massive water changes, new filters, new carbon, algaefix and etc... and the water was still green....

That is how we found this site. Thank you for the site. We are grateful we found you!

Thank you guys for the welcome!

Here is a picture of our saltwater tank. There are more in the picture forum.

I wish I would have thought to get a picture of the green freshwater tank before we started working one it.

I wish I could get a 400G!

Mines just a few gallons smaller... 390 gallons smaller, that is.

Thanks, I can do a saltwater reef tank just fine, but that stinking 135 gallon freshwater tank is kicking my butt! That sucker looks like it is beyond milky and going back to the green. I am about ready to chuck it out the dang door!

WOW! Your tank is amazing. A true work of art. I'm sure your 135 will be looking just as nice once you get it dialed in. Welcome aboard!

Welcome to FishForum! Gorgeous tank!

Fresh and salt are completely different animals, but salt does take a heck of a lot more research and patience to have a tank that looks like yours. If you had the dedication to get that tank to where it is in that picture, getting the freshwater tank back on track should be no problem.
