WOW it is amazing how addicting this aquarium thing can be. About a month ago I got a 5 gal Fluval Chi for on my desk. I did some reading on stocking and such and put in a Beta a snail and a few ghost shrimp.
The kids loved it.... and were constantly bugging my while I worked. SOOOOOO I got them each a small tank for their rooms.
Two weeks later I bought a 55 gal complete from Craigslist and have been workin on a community tank.
Thanks to all whose posts I have read. This is a GREAT resourse for NOOBS.
welcome to TFK...guess your well on your way to many, many Tanks....so before the usual suspects ask WHEREs the pictures.....you best show them .......
Welcome to TFK, Brian. We are glad you decided to join us. Yep, this hobby is very addicting. I hope I never recover, lol. The kids named both snails Gary?? That is so !
Welcome to TFK looking forward to seeing you on the the forum, What is in the 55 gallon community? I think it is official all of us will name our snails gary, in my case all 200 or so of them!
LOL you know yer all nutz
Yes the pics were up ... but now there is video.
Just so ya all know.... my kids are happy to know that there will be hundreds of Gary the snails out there.
I know I am asking for but I would like any input on my list o fish.... to much??? is anything a bad idea??
Have you already got the fish on your list or is that what you are considering getting? I'd research further the black skirts, serpae and tiger barbs. They probably prefer larger groups and the serpaes and tiger barbs can be nippy and can have aggression issues. I'm not familiar with rainbow sharks, but I see "shark" and "neon tetra" and I think "diner" and "dinner". I'd check into the shark's eating habits and whether any of your peaceful fish will end up dinner. A bigger group of cories might be better. Swordtails and platies can interbreed - what sexes have you got? You might end up with babies.
People have been saying for years that I'm just a little squiarlly.......times like these I know they are right!!!! Regarding the stocking have you gone to Aqadvisor site yet I have found it to be very helpful..once you plug in your tank size and filter you can add and subtract fish..its pretty nifty.... good luck
just wanted you to know that I had three mysterty snails then I planted my tanks and I got gangs of Gary's so add me to the pile of Gary keepers !!!!:-D
