Hello everyone. Just set up my accout this morning. I have been keeping fish for a year now after helping my roomate take care of his tank. I was instantly intrigued, as I always wanted to keep an aquarium but was always nervous. After helping my roomate take care of his tank for about six months I decided to get my own. I set up a 75 gal American Cichlid tank with a few plants. My interest has always been with Reef tanks. I love all the different corals and the bright colors your just not going to achieve with a fresh water tank. After reading (a lot of info gather from forums such as this one) I realized I can't just jump into a reef tank. First i know i dont have the experience or the money to keep up with a reef set up. So this past week I started to cycle a 45 gal fowlr aquarium. I'm really excited and have been testing the water everyday...lol Well just wanted to say Hello to all and I apreciate forums such as this to help noobs like me.

Hello and welcome to the forum

Looking forward to your progress in salty land. I live vicariously through those of you in the set up stages until I decide to take the salty plunge myself ;)

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

hello and welcome aboard.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
