hello... my name is allie and i am new to this forumn. i just recently bought 2 angelfish and was curious to see if anyone could tell me what type of fish could cohabitat with them. i am also thinking about buying a Chinese high fin banded shark, can i put these 2 together? i will be posting pictures of the tank in which i have the angelfish in.

Hi there, welcome to the forum. :) This sticky has a link to a compatibility chart which can help you see what fish angelfish are most compatible with: http://www.fishforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1903
I have long fin black skirt tetras, and I have been told that they are not very compatible with angelfish because of their long fins - they would nip at each other. Maybe the regular, non-long fin versions would be ok though.

I'm pretty new to the hobby too. Tetras and sharks are different, though. Most tetras, if not all, like to be in groups. I believe that sharks can get pretty big and require larger tanks - I have never had personal experience with them though. Perhaps try posting a question about them in the Freshwater Fish Species and Compatibility Forum. Then someone with more experience would help with a more specific answer. :)

Hi allie1220 and welcome to fishforum!

Are the angels going in the 10 gallon that's in your tank blurb? Sorry to say but they will need a much larger tank. Even though they may be small now they will outgrow a 10 gallon. Same with the Chinese high fin shark.
