Greetings All!

I am from Southern US of A.

Very happy to discover this forum and have greatly enjoyed everyone's tanks I have viewed so far and very grateful for all the knowledge and experience available here.

I am knocking cobwebs off my 30 gallon and diving into the planted tank hobby. Although I have done a bit of outside pond planting/fishery, gardens, flowers and houseplanting this is my first time into the fascinating aquascape I have been pouring over the last couple of weeks.

I have plenty of stem plants on the way as soon as they get to my order and plan to use Rex's 'Cycling the Planted Tank' method and have almost nailed down the DIY substrate I will be using on my maiden voyage. I have decided to go with medium light for this project and thanks to Byron's 'basic approach' series I think I am good in the lighting department.

Woot! As my little nephew says... I'm Ka-thited! ("excited" in baby lisp)

hello there.
i love that picture,it's beautiful.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Hope you enjoy your new project. I just started with a 20 gallon. I had kept a couple of goldfish in a 10 gallon forj a couple of years, but this is my first time with tropical fish. I'm having fun. Hope you do too!
