First tank

Hello everyone,

I've been on here all day reading up on things (forum was recommended by a co-worker) and decided to introduce myself.

I've never had fish and about a month ago one of my friends was moving and asked if I wanted their 10 gallon tank. I took it and now I spend most of my time researching about fish and aquariums (pictures are in my profile). My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy lol but I enjoy it.

Anyway she will probably be getting me a 100 gallon tank for Christmas but we will be moving into a new place in a couple of months and I probably won't set it up yet. I was wanting to do a saltwater/reef tank but that probably won't happen since I'm active duty military and I don't think it would be a smart investment since we move around quite a bit.

But I just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone since I will probably be spending some time in here and asking for everyone's ideas/opinions/input once I decide to set up the big tank.

I attached one picture but the rest are in my profile. If you have time take a look and tell me what you think. All criticism/suggestions are welcome since I am brand new to this.

Thanks and I look forward to getting to know everyone!

If you would like to have a saltwater tank, but you don't have time, you could always get African Cichlids. They are very colorful, hardy, and an all around great fish. You can PM me if you have any questions.

welcome.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Wish I had a friend that would give me a 100 gallon aquarium for Christmas ! Research is the key to success, so you're doing the right thing and it can become addictive. Best of luck and welcome !
