We had our annual event for Dallas-Fort Worth Marine Aquarium Society called "Next Wave" on 24 Jan. 09. We have it every year and this is the 15th annual, or something like that.

We had 4 Speakers
Dr. Bruce Carlson "Reef Life in the Solomon Islands, a video presentation"

Jake Adams "Water Flow is More Important Than Light"

Eric Borneman "The sustainability of our hobby"

and
Bob Fenner "The pros and cons of hitchhikers in the reef aquarium"

They all had great info to take in and anyone who thinks they may want to attened are more then welcome to join in. There were people from OH, CA, OK, NV and more i'm sure!

a few reasons NJ is better:
we had 2 zero edges at our swap
our raffle included a 150gallon setup and a flat screen tv (i lost both)
we got reef nutrition lanyards
MACNA is being held here this year
a few reasons NJ is worse:
we wont get started

im just picking on ya, looks awesome and i bet it was fun! i think eric is awesome.. he gave a great speech on corals at our swap which was interesting involving colors of frag plugs and laying SPS frags down instead of glueing them like "sticks" or "trees"

so what did ya buy from the vendors?

Every club has it's ups and downs. We had 30+ $50 gift cards for LFS and online vendors. We also had many producs, pumps, a vortec, replacements, a 400w MH ballast, and 3 Top bown photo box... I wanted one of them. and they were by Melev (cause he's from TX)... and much much more.
