Aquarium
Hi everyone. I just joined in December. I'm from north east of Toronto up in Uxbridge. I have had fish for many, many years since I was a kid but still to this day do not feel like I know much about it at all. I have had everything from Mollies to Oscars, (I love Oscars) I currently have a new tank, 70 gallon, my 55 Gallon leaked while we were on vacation so hey I just had to upgrade. I was only able to use a bit of the tank water, just the bucket the fish were in the 5 days it took to get home and work on dismantling and I moved the existing filter medium to help cycle the new tank. Also just transferred the gravel altho I did riinse it. It still cycled but has finally settled down and no more deaths for almost a month now. I only lost one fish in the big leak/bucket home. lol but lost several in the cycling of the new tank.
I LOVE MY FISH. I love how they come to the glass to see me and my dog. I sit by my tank every morning with my cup of coffee, my dog on my lap and we visit. There are pics on my profile. Let me know what you think of my tank. No one else in my house appreciates this hobby... any one else out there have that problem? I would love to have a salt water tank but I know that I don't have the dicipline to maintain the water quality necessary and it would break my heart to loose a clown fish. They are just too cute.
So looking forward to chatting with fellow Canadians!!

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
