Bought a betta on a whim, now addicted~

My son wanted a goldfish so I got him a betta. LOL. Now it's my fish and I'm addicted.

Glad I found this forum.

I'm ready for the pressure.
The drama and the pleasure!
If there is one thing I want to see here, it's HUMOR.
I believe I can fly!
I believe I can touch the sky!
I think about it every night and day!
I stand in awe of my body.

A lot fo people start with a few goldfish, or a betta and end up addicted What you are suffering from is known as MTS (multiple tank syndrome). Most of us have it. It's alright.

Welcome. :)

I just cleaned out an old 5 gal. and started it cycling today! That makes two tanks in my house. One for my betta and one for the new goldfish.

MTS...too funny!

Didn't buy one yet. Once the new tank cycles, I'll move the betta to the big tank and use the 2 gal. tank for a goldfish.

Any recommendations?

Fancy goldfish need a minimum tank size of 30g to grow up in but much bigger would be preferred. Comets or "plain" goldfish would need a bigger tank yet.

Maybe try an snail or some cherry shrimp for the 2g? IMHO it's too small for any fish I'm afraid.

It's good to see that you've decided to give your betta a better home. :)
