AAAND: a swedish person.

hi,

my name's gabriela, i'll turn 45 in a month (yes, you *may* bring me aquarium-related birthday presents! *lol*), and i live in sweden.

aquaristics is in my blood - my parents had a aquarists' shop when i was a kid - but i never kept fish myself until i became an adult.

i'm currently making preparations for starting up a 67 gallon tank where i'm going to try to keep chocolate gourami, and i'm doing a "will the second hand-bought fishtank leak?" test today - so far so good!
*lol*

i hope to learn a lot from people in here, and am looking forward to sharing my chocolate gourami experience with you all!

take care and be well,
gabriela

hello and welcome
good luck with the tank.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Chocolate Gouramis are beautiful fish. I have never kept them myself. Good luck with your new tank and keep us updated with photos!

I had a used tank leak and need resealing before, what a pain. Hope yours holds water for you.

thankyou everyone for the warm welcome!

i am so happy to be part of an active webforum - there isn't anything like that in swedish, which is a shame.
fishkeeping isn't very big over here in sweden.

canadian fish>> no sign of any leaking from the tank, and it's been over 6 hours since i filled it with water. i think i'm good!
*does a kermit the frog "YAAAAAY!!!" imitation*
btw>> my nova scotia duck tolling retriever girl "sienna" says "hello!" to a fellow canadian (although she was born in sweden she considers herself canadian. and *i*, as her humble servant, am a canadian by proxy! *rofl*)!

Hello Gabriela - welcome to the forum

Love the avatar!

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.
