Would love a recommendation - stocking

I am looking for a daylight-active species of small shoaling fish. Something colorful and fun to watch. Would be kept with neon tetras, a bristlenose pleco, a couple of dwarf frogs, some ghost shrimp, and a raphael catfish.

30 gallons for now. Will be upgrading to a 75 soon.

Any thoughts?

what are you water parameters, that'll help narrow down the stocking availability list..

As of yesterday:

78 degrees
PH - 7.2
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 25

Was interesting, my ammonia levels were off the chart for weeks, and then everything dove. I never saw a Nitrite reading above .25. It was like my aquarium skipped that part of the cycling process.

I have Rummynose tetras and Harlequin Rasboras and I really like them both. The rummies are really striking with their bright red noses and checkered flag tails. The Harlies are fun to watch as they'll show off to each other. I'll see two swimming parallel to eachother and each doing a little body wagging dance. But they never hurt eachother. The harlies are also colorful with their orange bodies and black triangle patch. They are both great schoolers.

I've got pristella tetras and I love them. The colours are subtle, their fins are striped, yellow, black and white and they've got a red tail. In their group they look like little aeroplanes with coloured wings. Their colour wasn't as deep when they were in the shop as after I'd got them. I'm happy with them and would recommend them.

I'm trying to picture myself looking into your aquarium, and what I see missing is...

Pearl Danios.

I'm gonna go with pearl danios.

Good luck! 8)

Have a look at our fish profiles, especially the characins and cyprinids. There are too many different options to name. I would avoid really small fish as those will probably get eaten by the raphael as it grows (unfortunately, this applies to the neons you've already got in the tank).

Yes, I know. The Raphael will be moving over to the 75 gallon that I hope to be getting soon. He is still far too small to eat the neons. I plan on getting the larger tank set up and cycled within the next 6 months or so, hopefully far before he is old enough to munch on his tank mates.
