What now? (Help me pick another species!)

Last night very strangely one of my bolivian rams died. No trauma, no water quality issues, I just turned my back after righting my snail with long tongs and he went belly up. I must've scared him somehow bad enough for him to die.

Anyways, I get to go fish shopping. What should I add next? (stocking list is in my signature.)

My water has a pH of between 7-8 so maybe no tetras, and FYI my gourami is very peaceful.

I'm thinking of getting back into platies. This time, females!

It's exactly what I would do.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

The rams were fighting too much, when my current ram gets old enough for me to sex him, I'll go get "Lola" a friend.

I went out for one fish, brought home two beautiful female platies and a frog. And a nerite snail.

Sorry about the ram but congrats. on your new fishies. What kind of platys?

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

The platies are a marigold variatus and the other is a standard marigold. Both very pretty, before I had the traditional red wags.
