What fish should I add to my tank?

I've got a 20g that I recently set up.

Currently it has:
1 Sunset Variatus Platy
3 Zebra Danios
8 Neon Tetras

And very soon I will be picking up 3-4 Julii Corys.

I'm not sure what to get after that, I'm looking for that "main/feature" fish.

I am considering a Dwarf Gourami but I have read mixed things about them. Everything from them being extremely peaceful and nothing to worry about, all the way to them being quite territorial and aggresive.

Any thought on the DG, or other suggestions?

I would complete your danios and add 3 more. After that maybe a rainbowfish. Do you want to go with livebearers? If so there are some awesome colored guppies or some really cool swords. Na, never mind the swords..they'll get a bit aggressive with the other fish and you'll need another female. My cherry barbs are quite impressive with their bright red colors. MY lfs has some long finned danios that are beautiful.

My swords are the biggest babies in the world. They are far from aggressive. Lol I'm pretty sure my serpae tetras beat on them, even though my swords are double the size of the tetras... And out number them?

its pertty full as is. i would just add some more danios. probably 3 or 4 would do it

Ask the experimenters why they experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are like us." Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are not like us." Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction. ~Charles R. I would actually get rid of the danios entirely. That would leave room to add another 1-2 cories. However, if you want to keep them, definitively add more to the group.

A single rainbowfish wouldn't work as they need to be kept in groups. If you keep a rainbow by its self it will just hide all the time, which wouldn't make a very good centerpiece.

Dwarf gourami can be territorial, but mostly to other territorial fish and/or top dwellers. The swordtail may get chased or nipped at a bit, but I don't think they would do each other any harm.

A Bolivian Ram or a Blue Ram would make a great "centerpiece fish", they're not very aggressive unless they're breeding, and since you'd only have one, that wouldn't be a problem. Kribs would work well too.

There are also some other great species of gourami that you could try. I love my honey gourami, they're very docile and shy. A female betta or some wild type bettas would also get along well.
