i have a 54 liter tank (14 gallon) thinking between two fish so far they are the Endler Guppy or the glowlight tetras.. reason for this as i am a beginner in tropical fish and some of them are compatible with ones i want in the tank.. but would like to hear what everyone says always good to have other opionions

do you have anything in the tank already? I would say that the tetras would be happier in your tank because they have a 10 gallon minimum and guppies usually like 20 gallons or larger, but you could probably keep them.

And also, have you had any experience in fish keeping at all? Do you know about the nitrogen cycle? And if I were you, I would go with a tetra tank. The like to be kept in 6 or more, so get at least 6 of each kind.

The only thing in my tank as of now is my lonely betta, he will be moved out when i get the other fish, I know abit about fish and the water change and the ph but thanks for the reminder :). Thank you catdawg i will check out the tetra's andsee what ones i like i may go with those or stick with my endlers depending on whats nicer and catches my eye in color...:)

Endler's or tetra's would be fine, but I would lean towards the tetra's (glowlights).
The endler's could quickly overpopulate the 14 gal but if you have plans on another larger tank, then good for you.
Tetra's are egg scatterer's and would most likely eat the eggs shortly after depositing them unless the adult's were removed.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

I love endlers.

In fact I have been trying to find some in my area with no luck.

Very cool fish, but they do breed quickly and I think this would be their only downfall.

You could just start with a pair of endlers and let the population build up naturally before you start taking some out.
