Wet/Dry filter

Im going to be picking up a wet/dry filter today around 3 from someone off craigslist. Got everything I need but a pump for 55 bucks. His pump is to big for my tank so i have to get a new one.

On to the question, anyone have any hints on the easiest way to set on up and get it running? My tank isnt drilled for the wet/dry so I will have the overflow tank hanging off the back.

main thing is, if there is a way to make the sump fail safe during a poweroutage DO IT. Starting the siphon for the overflow can be tricky do a qucik search on google and you should be able to find tips and tricks on that issue, might wanna check your overflow box every day or so for the next two weeks to make sure no fish get in there as this often happens frequently with smaller fish or fish that like to "jump"

Cool, I got it from a guy that had it for a salt tank. What should I do it clean it to make it safe for freshwater? The guy I got it from said to soak it in vinegar and water

u definatly need to clean it even if it was used for freshwater. u could use a water/blech mix also and just scrub it down no need to soak, then u wash with water till u cant smell chlorine any more. 10% chlorine 90% water mix works well

Subject: Larry LaPrise dead at 93

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at the age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.
