just add your water change through your filtration system.this way the filters will get some of it first.but other than that not much you can do except at a filtration system(rust remover)on the home.

Dep on your well.

Take a white bucket or anything light colored add bucket full of well water let sit for 48hrs see if you have a lot of iron deposit on the bottom.

Otherwise just use normal water conditioner (I used Aquasafe with the well) and call it even.

That said : If you have live plants in your tank; do NOT be surprised when they'll start exploding like 2 weeks from now; the enriched water is far better IMO then any bottled plant food ever will be (Feel free to look at my aquarium log here on the let see these plants)

I have well water and I LOVE IT! You know why?? Because I don't have to buy any water conditioners! We don't have any chemicals in our well. We use ultra violet to kill bacteria and other pathogens in our water. You're all jealous!

Well water can vary so much from place to place, and there are also different types of wells. Our well on our property is a deep drilled well down into the rock. The water is about like spring water. I do not need to use water conditioners for our fish, but that would not be so with every well out there. I just know it's so with ours.

I also have a well, don't use water conditioner either. UV sterilizer is not necessary IMO. Our well has failed bacteria tests before and these are pretty meaningless to the fish (coliiform) because its gonna be present in the aquaria anyway. Our retests always come back safe. Well water should be tested once a year for drinking water. We get our tests from the local court house/gov building. Cost depends on what you test for. The kits are free, its simply a jar and order form. You take a water sample fill out what you want tested, cost is on the order form, you mail it with a check.

City/town water tastes icky and I won't buy bottled. Well water is the best.

.... I'm probably drunk.

This is how I lurk

I had started to notice in the last couple of days(yes i did put my fish in the water before asking) that my one plant was taking off.

I had just put some water conditioner in it and everyone seems happy.

My well water is nasty to drink, I do know it has a lot of sulfur in it
