Weekend Feeders

How well do those weekend feeders work? Do they work alright for mollies if I'm going to be away for a few days in a row? Here's a picture of one of the ones that I have:

I've heard nothing but bad things about weekend and vacation feeders. I've heard that they mess up your water.

dont worry about it at all, all fish can go atleast a week without feeding and can even go up to like two weeks. that feeder will end up killing your fish from all ammonia and nitrites that will be caused by it. i would throw that away or sell it but DO NOT USE IT. if your simply going to be gone for a week trust me your fish will be fine, in the wild they dont eat every day or even every week but yet they still survive so your fish will be fin e.

Yeah, I've left my fish for 2 weeks without food. It takes a while for fish to starve to death. Just resist the temptation to overfeed when you get back. There is no making up for yesterday.
