Is there any thing constructive I can do....

with a 2.5 gallon hex tank? I checked out and bought a 40 gallon long tank on a craigslist ad, long story short, me and the fella talked abit, and he gave me 6 more tanks in addition, so 1 being a 2.5 gallon hex, 2 ten gallon tanks, a 15? not sure, a 20 gallon long, and a 25-27ish gallon hex tank, along with boxes of plants, filters, heaters, everything i can think of. 3 stands, 1 for 40 gallon, 1 for 20 long, 1 for 10 gallon.

So, any ideas of what I can do with the 2.5 Gallon? I'd hate to waste it if i can help it.

I'm sure alot of the stuff is junk, the filters all appear to be whisper brand, various air pumps, decos, plants, gravel, a real nice guy, he's just moving soon.

I'm not trying to keep fish in it, just whatever, grow plants in it to transplant to the big tank? I dunno, just whatever you got that you have done or seen.

With the 2.5 gallon you could do a small freshwater shrimp tank........as long as your room temp doesnt go below 68F, you wouldnt need a heater for them, just a sponge filter....Mature the tank for a few months with some snails and you shoudl be set to go!...........another option could be a birthing tank for any small livebearers.......

You could use it for a betta. 2.5 gallons is a good size for them.

Kindest Regards,

Keeping fish its not a hobby it is a passion!

55 gallon, 44 gallon, one 20 gallon tank, three 10 gallon tanks, and a 2.5 gallon all with real plants.

I have MTS and there is no cure.

I agree with Calmwaters. You can go rescue a betta :)

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

I vote for picking a betta up for that tank. They are truly 'funny' fish and have quirky little personalities.

Thanks for the help, I'm leaning towards the Betta, but don't know if I want to deal with another tank. I've got my 20 Gal high that I'm ready to add more fish. I'm cycling a 10 gallon for the GF, and I'm in the process of getting the 40 Gallon long set up here soon. Once I get the 40 up, I figure the 20 gallon will come down, but that'll be several weeks.
