Question Temp is high! Don't understand why...

First off I want to say thank you all for your help.
I ran into a new problem and it is that my tank is holding a temp at 79f with heaters calibrated at 75. After trouble shooting a bit I believe it is my light that is doing it. After turning off the light the water temp drops about 1 degree a hour but this is just a stander light that comes with most aquariums. I have a all glass canopy with holes in the back just big enough for the canister tubing. That may be part of the problem to.

So my question is how do I go about venting off heat. Would raising the light help?
Should I hook up some fans some how?

Turn the heater down a click or two if water is warmer than you or fish like, during light's on.
A two or three degree temp drop from lights on to after lights go off should pose no problems for fish.
Do be aware that for many heater's, the temp listed on dial of heater and actual water temp can vary, and thermometer is best way to tell actual temp in the tank.
Check the temp of a morning before lights on and if it is too low,,adjust heater up a click or two.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.
