The Lake Malawi cichlids mentioned are some of the most aggressive and should not be attempted by anyone who has NO experience with mbuna.
The peacocks / Haps make a stunning tank but again caution needs to be had and all Male is generally the way to go for color variation. This however requires that you have several spare tanks setup and running as until you find a mix that works, you WILL be removing fish regularly. Trust me on that I have a 180G all male Hap/Peacock tank and it is hard work.
