Sea snails in tropical tank

Hi i am new here and was just wondering if i could get an answer to a question i have.

I have recently been given a 80l tank and have a couple of puffers in it amongst other things, i was wondering if it is ok to put regular sea snails (i live by a harbour and there are hundreds when the tide goes out) in the tank for the puffer to eat i also have two i toads which i assume would also eat them.

Thanks very much :)

Don't know about the frogs, so I can't answer that one. And your question is tougher to answer than you might think. If you have a Puffer that is supposed to be in Brackish to full marine, you are safe to feed them the snails. A full FW puffer, I would not.

They are colomesus (fully fresh water) i am currently dropping in a prawn for them to nibble on but i have heard and read that snails would be the best, only problem is i dont have any local stockists (only stock a few not as food) and it will take over a month to breed some from a few bought at my nearest stockist :/

As long as you do start giving them the shelled diet, I would be to concered in the shirt term that you can't. Definately would start breeding snails asap, if yiu plan on keeping that type of puffer. Ever thought of buying them by the hundreds on EBay for the time being?
