Rosy red with black spot vid 1 - YouTube rosy red with black spot vid 2 - YouTube
So, I bought some Rosy Reds, in an attempt to make a group for my 45. I know itll take a while, and im going to lose 90% of the fish i buy, but they are cheaper as a dozen thank any other fish! So far, its been two days and ive only had one death.
What im wondering is...a few of the fish came with an odd black spot. It almost looks like a gravid spot, on livebearers. Though the edges are more sharp. This is on the inside of the fish, not the outside.
The bin they are in is sitting in another tank, so the videos are taken through glass, and clear plastic. If i try to look above the side, they scatter, and i cant tell which fish it is that has the spot. So the videos arent that clear, but the fish in question comes right up to the side a few times in each video.
As far as i know, rosy reds arent livebearers, they pair off, and lay eggs on terracotta pots, or caves, and the males defend the eggs, and keep them from becoming infected with fungus.
Im wondering what this could be? Has anyone else ever seen this? Originally, the spot was on at least three, and now, i can only find one.
Maybe its a...environmental thing? A Stress reaction? I have no idea!
