A recipe for trouble?

So yesterday morning we noticed my girlfriend's tank had some new additions of 15 more new balloon mollie babies. The two male balloon mollies that had previously resided in the tank peacefully were now mortal enemies, and were waging world war 3 in the tank. One was very obviously losing the battle and so we decided to take the bigger, more aggressive fish out and really the only option we had for separation was my 10 gallon tank, which is populated by tiger barbs, and zebra danios. The barbs and danios have always gotten along and for the most part ignored each other. I seem to have a much more docile strain of tiger barbs than I have had in the past but I can't shake the feeling that this is just asking for trouble. So far, the mollie is doing fine, hasn't been attacked at all as far as I have seen as he is much bigger than the tiger barbs and they seem pretty skittish whenever he comes near them. I still can't shake the feeling that I've thrown the poor little guy to the wolves though. Any thoughts?

How many female mollies in the larger tank? Perhaps if you added more females, the males would fight less.

In a larger tank, the tiger barbs and molly would be fine together. I think the tank is already crowded with the tiger barbs and danios. Sounds like your tiger barbs are still small, but they are active fish and will soon need more space.

i think he will be fine for now, considering he is large. i had the same problem with my mollies, except they really got hurt, so then i put the smaller one in a plastic small breeding box floating on top of the tank and i took out the grate and divider (to give him more space) and he recovere (he was more injured) and after 2 days i put him back in the tank and they still fight just not as much. And congrats on the babies.

The other male mollie has bloody spots on him but seems to be doing fine. Tiger barbs are still babies and yeah I plan on moving the inhabitants of the ten gallon over to my 29 gallon when I get a bigger tank in a month or so. Just hope that maybe it will be ok until then.

I think it will be fine.
I have not found tiger barbs kept in groups to be "monster", like some people say.

i had large fin molly's with my 9 barbs and they dont mess with them at all
