A question of the size of my tank?

I have a 55 gallon aquarium with 5 silverdollar fish about 2 1/2 inches, two bala sharks about 5 to 6 inches long, two tiger barbs a1 1/2 inches, and two african leaf fish bout 2 in long,

my main question is what would be a better size aquarium to house these fish so that they may grow to there full potential.

any help would be appreciatted.

A 55g would be fine for the silver dollars, but I'd want a tank six feet in length (I believe 100g tanks are the smallest that are six feet long, but a 180g would be great) for the balas, which should also be in a larger school to feel comfortable. The tiger barbs also need a larger group and would be just fine in the 55g. I'm not sure if the leaf fish would do well with those big, active schoolers. They're shy ambush predators that are easily startled. They also prefer heavy vegetation to feel comfortable which just isn't possible in a tank with silver dollars as they'll eat all your plants. If you got a 6 foot tank, you could move the silver dollars, balas and tiger barbs to that tank, increasing the school sizes of the sharks and barbs. Then you could keep the leaf fish in the 55g by themselves (or perhaps with more suitable tankmates) with a lot of plants.
