So I got some new fish. They are in my siggy, but Pencilfish,Pygmy Cory and a hitchhiker Ghost Shrimp. They are in a 9 gallon q-tine tank at the moment. I am reading conflicting information on how long to leave them in there. Some say 1 week, another says 2 weeks, yet another says up to 4 weeks or 6 weeks. So I dunno. Help?

I usually QT my fish for 3 weeks, just to be safe. Your QT tank is so nice as far as the fishes comfort level. It's so nice that I doubt they are *stressing* in QT.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

Oh,cool lol. Do normal qt tanks have nothing in them? I figured if they had to live in this tank for awhile, might as well have some decorations lol.
Yeah they seem perfectly happy in there. Those Pencils are fascinating! Keep changing color patterns. That little shirmp is interesting as well. I wonder if he needs shrimpie friends lol?

Thanks Aunt Kymmie!!

The shrimp probably would do nice with another 1 or 2 of them and since they have very little bio load they dont really count as far as the inch per gallon rule. I would say get a couple of them........

I have 5 or 6 and they are really cool to watch. They like to hang out on the tops of the plants. They come flying at feeding time. Just make sure not to feed them shrimp pellets with cooper in it, as I did and they started turning milky white. I caught it in time and stopped giving them. Good Luck

I think 5-6 would be ok. You can try the pellets you have but mine turned milky white. They did not act sick or anything but when I posted about them turning white the average reply was white shrimp = dead shrimp. They are all still here and even started turning clear again mostly. Just watch them closely if you give them shrimp pellets with cooper to see if it affects them.

If I buy a fish from anyplace other than my normal LFS I do 3 weeks like you do. I know my LFS well enough to know that he QTs his fish for a month before he introduces them for sale. I sometimes just introduce his fish without QT but my community tank currently only has his stock (his setup is top notch and he is the only LFS that I have ever trusted).
