Planning 10 gallon for threadfin rainbow...

Ok I have an empty 10 gallon that I can no longer resist setting up again and am thinking about useing it as a species tank for threadfin rainbows. I am thinking about trying sand and I would like to use plants that are from there natural habitat so can you guys tell me what plants are from Western New Guinea and Northern Australia. I am thinking a sponge filter would be good filteration since they occurs in slow-flowing or still streams, lagoons, ditches and swamps. Also since these guy have such really small mouths do you think it would be ok to add my cherry shrimp to the tank?

Kindest Regards,
Amanda

Keeping fish its not a hobby it is a passion!

55 gallon, 44 gallon, one 20 gallon tank, three 10 gallon tanks, and a 2.5 gallon all with real plants.

I have MTS and there is no cure.

Your other thread about Pseudomugil gertrudae (I think) piqued my interest so I started to search for more info and came across AQUAGREEN. It has a long list of native Australian plants - it also has some general info regarding Pseudomugil gertrudae as well.
