I have an oscar that is so cool he will accept food from my hand. He will be moving hopefully to a
55 gallon tank And i would like for him to have some tankmates there will be a pleco in the tank. Is there any type of fish that could live in piece with him? Just for the heck of it could a large school of zebra danios with lots of floating plants live, would a school of randow fish be ok , how a bout some larger silver dallors or other cichlids.
I have had loads of trouble with a 1 1/2 kribensis first he ate half the fish in the tank, was moved to a korenten and the oscar was and still is in there, I just lost him to eyepop I don't like the idea of cichlid but will be ok they are the only thing that can go in the tank with him.
thanks.:-?

My oscar has major respect for my dempsey.

Is intimidated by my red belly pacu (accidental buy, labelled as piranha..before anyone has a go)

Shows mild aggression towards my convicts.

Doesn't seem to acknowledge my firemouths' existence.

Shows mild aggression towards my texas cichlids.

All are of a similar size. All get on fine.

The trick with central/south americans (if not all cichlids) is to either have one, or loads and introduce them to the tank at the same time to avoid major territory disputes. If there are some already in the tank, just rescape it with the fish in a holder tank.
