I need some advice about my adult female opaline gourami. She is normally cobalt blue and lighter shades of blue in colour, however for the past few days she has been a very dark blue, almost grey in colour. She is eating normally but is acting a little more aggressive than normal.
She is paired with a male opaline / three spot, who is mirroring her colours, he is normally light blue with 3 dark blue spots, but he has also turned a dark blue, almost grey colour and his spots go light blue.
A few days ago a female honey gourmai was added to the tank as a friend for my large male honey, however both the female and male above are very tolerant and do not seem bothered by the new addittion.
Anyone got any ideas??? I've searched online and one forum suggested that maybe they are ready to breed.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
