Is this normal for betta's?

Hello,
I have a Betta, and have had it for a week now. I know when they are happy healthy, enough to want to breed they make bubble nest.
Mine has made a huge bubble nest.He will swim every now and then away from the bubble nest, but then he goes right back to the bubble nest and stay for hours at the bubble nest. Is this normal for a betta fish to do to stay for hours at the nest? Even though there is no femals or other fish in the tank?[/quote]
