New tankmates

Hi!
I am new to the forum and have been reading all the different post and threads on here. I still would like 2 know if I have 2 red tails and 1 Dwarf Gourami in a 10 gallon tank is that TOO much or I can start off this way and upgrade to 20 gallon! Possible birthday gift within the next few months. Thanks!

Red Tailed Shark? you need... 55g+ I think it is for one of them, and a 30g+ for the gourami. They will not do well in a 20 and certainly not a 10.

I was thinking it would be a nice starter tank but I'm wrong, so I'm looking at a 75g tank. Thanks!

You don't need to get a 75 gal, unless you want an excuse to get that big of a tank Check the profiles here of both the fish you have. I have one Gourami in a 43 gal (with other fish too) and she is doing well. The shark will get 6 inches, and a 55 gal would be nice for him. It depends what other fish you want to put in with the two you have. The 10 gallon won't last you long, but it can make a nice hospital tank.

Profile for Red tail calls for 48 inches in length minimum. A gourami will do well in that size tank too.
