New fish addition problems

Hey, I have 29 gallon Juwel rekord 800 aquarium with:
- 4 black skirt tetra
- 2 siamese algae eaters
-3 guppies (males)
-2 pearl gouramis (male and female)

I added the female pearl yesterday and she seemed quite nervous, she swam about rapidly and tries to go to the male then swims away. They interact a bit now but she was sitting on her own for a bit and im not sure if anything is wrong. She hasnt eaten and the male was like this when I added him and took ages to settle. Any advice?
Heres how she was sitting for like 25 mins:

It can take pearls a while to settle in (as youve already seen), especially if you do not quarantine them. What you describe sounds normal. When fish are stressed they do not eat, so that is normal too. Some types of fish will immediately take to a new tank and eat right away, while other types of fish do not.

Agree with Jaysee. Pearls are probably the shyest of the gourami.

She may or may not be ill. It's too soon to tell. I'm just saying that the behavior in and of itself is not indicative of being sick. The behavior is a response to something, and that something may be stress from being put in a new tank, or it could be sick. That's why it's important to quarantine new fish - gives the fish time to adjust while not risking the health of the other fish in the tank.

I would expect the fish to start eating after a few days, certainly after a week. It may not eat with you watching it though.
