Question Need help with fish selection

I have a 33 gallon tank, its been cycled and I have 4 leopard danios, 2 clown loaches and a red tailed shark.
Today I bought 6 neon tetras. The danios went nuts and chased them around like crazy!! 3 of the neons died within the hour, I'm guessing from the stress, and the 3 that are left are hiding and when they come out, the danios seem to be ignoring them.
My question is what kinds of fish would you recommend i stock in this tank?
and are danios considered to be an aggressive fish?

33 gallon tank
5 cats and a cockatiel

The danios and tetras should have worked.
Next time you add new fish try feeding the tank when you add the new fish, also leaving the light off till the next day works well.
I think you will have problems keeping small fish with a red tailed shark in the tank. I would either remove the shark and get more small fish, or think of some larger type fish you would like to have for the tank.

the only thing i can add is maybe try upping the shoal size of the leopard danios to maybe 8..........They are zippy little fish that never stop moving..........That alone can stress out some fish, but i wouldnt think thats the case with the neons.......How did you go about acclimitizing them to your tank?.........How long has the tank been set-up?...........I know you said its cycled, but cycled and established are 2 different things...........Neons are sensitve to any changes in your water....

The redtail shark could be an aggressive fish as it grows, keep an eye on it and i would be hesitant to add any bottom dwellers with the shark in there
