What size tank?

I find it far easier to catch fish when there's no water in the tank

125 - BGK, chanchito cichlid, pictus cats, silver dollars, palmas bichir
125 - cichlids (severums, bolivian rams, chocolate), rainbows ( turquoise, red), loaches (angelicus, zebra, kuhli and horseface), plecos (BN, RL and clown), denison barbs, tiretrack eel, pearl gouramis, betta
90 - Congo tetras, african knife, upside down cats, spotted ctenopoma, kribensis, delhezzi bichir
2.5 - betta

Maybe add more plant or decor so they have hiding places and to keep themselves amused?? I found that helped alot in my betta tank.

Shoaling fish, which all tetra are, should be in groups, no less than six is usually suggested, but the more the better both for the fish themselves and to avoid trouble with other fish in the tank. You haven't mentioned the tank size, but it wold be good to increase the neon tetra to 7 or more, and if you keep the Red Eye Tetra it too needs 6 or more. The Odessa Barb is also mentioned, this too is a shoaling fish requiring a group of six or more--again, depending on tank size.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
