My first Aquabid purchase....

I just bought a pair of Black Kuhli Loaches I have never bought fish through the mail so this is going to be interesting. LOL I have one Black Kuhli Loach already that I thought had died and been eaten by the others in the tank but then last night imagine my surprise when I lifted up the decoration in the tank to take it out to vacum the gravel underneath it which I have not done in several months, I normally just vaccum around it and out he came. LOL I was surprised and happy because I think he is a neat little fish. I bought him when I lived in TN and had been looking for more every since I found out they like to be in groups but had not been able to find any here in NC. I hope with the addition of a few more he will feel safer and come out more. I know they are nocturnal but I have moon lights on this tank so I will still be able to see him.

Kindest Regards,
Amanda

How great that he was still alive after all that time! When do you expect your new loaches to arrive? I've always wondered about using Aquabid as far as fish purchases. I used it once for an order of moss and instead of moss I received a pile of mush, LOL. I know you'll have better luck than me!

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

i have made quite a few purchases thru Aquabid and have had great success with all but one....The one bad experience was corrected by the seller.....The only thing that sucks, is paying for the high shipping costs, but if you really want something bad enough, Aquabid is a good place to start looking, IMO.....When you get them, if you could possibly post some pics, it would be greatly appreciated.......I dont think i have ever seen black kuhlis...........Hope they arrive safely and frisky for you!

I will be happy to post pictures. This seller is in the US so the shipping should be around $14.00 or so is what it said on the auction post and the fish were $3.00 for a pair so not that bad. Christina I could check when he emails me and see if I could get another pair and bring them to you when I come next weekend if you like.

Kindest Regards,
Amanda

Black kuhlis are nice. They're hardier than the regular kuhlis. Bear in mind that they're shy. They get less shy if they have some ground cover to move through (hairgrass, dwarf sags, leaf littler, glosso if you're up for a high tech planted tank.

Logic is only the beginning of wisdom

I paid for them this morning as well as 2 Honey Dwarf Gourami, and 2 Peacock Gudgon that I will be putting in a tank that I have ordered. There was a min order of $25.00 the peacock gudon were $8.00 a piece they are $15.00 at the LFS, and the Honey Gourami were $3.00 each. I am so excited I can't wait for them to get here.
Tophat I do have lots of plant in my tank but none that are ground cover plants I will look for the ones you mention and see if I can find it here.
