just a few questions

i need some help:

as a gift i received a tank which consisted of (it was a large tank) :

1 albino eel
2 oscars (one albino
2 blood parrot fish
2 small plecos
2 gulpies (eaten)
2 crayfish(eaten)
2 other small fhish(eaten)
2 tetras (eaten)
1 betta ( was smart enough to take him out )
and 6 fish i still havent been able to name
1 has a black body and orange tail ( think its called a shark fish? :P)
1 is a small yellow fsh
1 looks like a coin (silver and round)
1 completely albino with red eyes and yellow spots on its fin
and 2 that glow blue and are quite aggressive.

recently i have lots of tension in my tank. the oscars, blood parrots and the eel get along fine but seem to be very aggressive towrads the other fish. there are however also disputes between the rest of the fish in my tank. I am however getting a second tank to split the fish up, anyone know what should go with what?

also if u can, please tell me what u think is eating everything else in the tank?

ok well the things that are eating the other fish is the Oscar and the eel. you can keep the oscars/BP' and the eel to gether but put the other fish in the new tank. the silver coin thing is a Silver Dollar most likely but if it is small it could be a baby red belly pacu. anything small is an oscars bet food and crayfish are a snack to them.

it is a Silver Dollar, and the other one is a redtail shark.

How about the pelcos? should i just get a larger one?

How large is the tank? If you cannot determine the water volume, it will be best to determine the dimensions of length, width and height in order in centimeters.

Problem is the whole stock given to you was quite horribly incompatible. What eel do you have? A picture will help in this case. Get rid of the oscars starting by returning them to the lfs instead. Your tank may not be able to cope with the bioload of 2 oscars and 2 blood parrots.

Pictures will be needed for the following so we can sort them out as soon as possible:
1 is a small yellow fsh
1 completely albino with red eyes and yellow spots on its fin
and 2 that glow blue and are quite aggressive.
2 plecos

i know the oscars will get quite big but they are by far my favourite. my tank is about 1.5m/1m/1m so i think its good enough for 5 fish at full size. the other small fish have a 40l tank and so that should be enough for them.

I was thinking the same thing this morning so had the pictures taken already. The plecos are the cleaner fish that suck on the glass, not sure what their original name is. And i`m pretty sure my eel is not a simple `albino eel` but something else so identifying it for me will be nice

Unfortunately this morning my eel attempted to eat a pleco and couldnt but did enough damage to kill it. i thought plecos went with everything though? should i just get a larger one?

blood parrot and the eel :P is there something wrong with my parrot fish? both have those wierd markings but all the fish here have not changed at all since i got them for the petshop.

the eel again, why does it do that? it just surfaces and then holds air so it can float!

*edit* also the eel is quite strong and moves all the terrain arround continuously. Any idea how i can keep it in one place?

the only help that i can be is to say that...........
The albino fish is a Cichlid.and should not be in there.
The yellow fish is a cichlid.Labrochromis caeruleus,
and also should not be in there either,
i would say to you to take them to your local fish store,
and ask them to take them for you.
the mulit coloured fish...Cichlid also,and needs re-homing.
any chance of a full tank shot. ?

i`m getting my second fishtank today so i`m quite happy, in that i will put the 4 cichlids, the Silver Dollar and the remaining pleco in the new tank ( as well as the red tail shark) what else do u think i should add to this new tank to make it nicer? what mixes with those 6?

What size is the tank? You can't get any more fish yet without determining your water parameters and cycling the tank properly. Get a test kit if you haven't yet. API lqiuid test kit is best recommended. Test for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH regularly.

the tank is already in use, just somewhere else in the house, its all about moving it for 30 seconds without its filter running. but yeah i need to get a test kit = had the tank running for 10 days though like the petshhop said

and anyone know what eel i have?

10 days is not enough. Your ammonia and nitrites may not have gone down to zero yet.
My guess is lungfish but I may be wrong.
