Smile i finally got my cherry barbs!

hi everyone!
today i finally bought the 6 cherry barbs i've been planning to get for ages, yay!
I could have gotten the albino bristlenose at the same time, but they were $20 and i thought that was way too expensive considering i could have got them somewhere else for only $15
i wanted to get a picture of the barbs to show you guys, but they weren't being co-operative. since i added them to the tank they've gone through a phase of exploring and getting chased around the tank by my gourami, and now they seem to have accepted their place in the fish hierarchy and are hiding. i did manage to tempt a few out with mosquito wrigglers though :)
they are really adorable, and really tiny. 6 doesn't actually look like a lot, especially when you can't see them half the time. i like them so much i'm starting to wonder if it would be ok to get another 3 or so. they seem to feel more secure in groups, even though they don't appear to shoal very tightly.
so i was wondering, could i manage to keep 9 cherry barbs along with the gourami and a bristlenose catfish, or is that pushing it? (tank is 15 gallons)
i wish i could get them to come out and stand up to my gourami, but somehow i think they'll be happier and less stressed if they just stay out of her way for the time being. she wasn't being overly agressive towards them, but whenever she remembered they were there she'd start chasing them.

p.s. if i manage to get a picture of them, i'll post it ASAP :)

Well IMHO I have 5 neon rosy barbs in my 75 Gal and they swim back and forth and run out of room really fast! So 9 might be a bit much....in a 15 gal considering they may get to be 2 inches. You did not say what kind of Gourami it is...
Run you numbers thru this link to see what it says.

Good luck. Watch your ammonia levels after adding so many fish, your bio load may not be enough to carry for awhile until it catches up.

the AqAdvisor thing probably won't be accurate for me because i don't have a standard filter, it's homemade
the gourami is a Golden Gourami.
