For all who didnt know HR669 was a bill that if passed would have banned pretty much all pets (not every single one but a lot of them) the only fish you could have had would have been gold fish. How ever it did not pass.
theres no way it was going to pass in it's current written form. It was poorly written basically outlaws everything that is non-native applying to fish, amphibians, reptiles. Too harsh of a bill.
It will be re-written and tried again I guarantee you.
The one snake I can also 100% guarantee you that will be outlawed is the Burmese Python so if you want one you better get one now while they're legal. In 5 years you may never be able to get one anymore. There's just way too much research out there proving that they are dangerous, will eat newborn babies, and can survive in warmer states during the winter (Florida, Texas, Lousiana, Arkansas, Georgia, etc).
remember this was just the beginning - again.
Marshall Meyers from PIJAC did a great job speaking and the fellow from SC was quite good relaying info from fisheries and such.
It's down for now, but will no doubt be back for another round, keep eyes and ears open.
